Terms of Service

Last Updated: August 2026

Welcome to STH Academic ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our online learning management system (the "Platform"), which provides one-to-one online tutoring sessions for students from Montessori to Grade 12.

By accessing or using our Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are accepting on behalf of a minor (your child), you represent that you are their parent or legal guardian and have the authority to bind them to these Terms.

1. User Accounts and Roles

  • Parent/Student Accounts: Parents must create an account to enroll their children in courses. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • Teacher Accounts: Teacher accounts are created and managed exclusively by our Administration. Teachers cannot self-register.
  • Account Security: You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

2. Services and Scheduling

  • One-on-One Sessions: We provide 45-minute live tutoring sessions via third-party video conferencing tools (e.g., Google Meet, Zoom).
  • Timetable Adherence: Class links provided on the Platform are only valid and actionable during the scheduled class time window.
  • Attendance: Students are expected to join sessions on time. Missed sessions without prior administrative approval may not be rescheduled or refunded.

3. Billing and Payments

  • Monthly Billing Cycle: Our services operate on a month-to-month basis. We do not use automatic recurring credit card charges.
  • Manual Payments: At the end of each billing cycle, a renewal challan (invoice) is generated. Parents must pay via manual bank transfer and upload the receipt to the Platform for administrative approval.
  • Service Interruption: If payment for a subject is not received, live access (class links, new assignments) will be suspended until payment is verified. Historical reports will remain accessible.
  • Refunds: All payments are non-refundable unless explicitly agreed upon by our Administration.

4. Assignments and Data Expiry

  • Submissions: Students are required to submit assignments through the Platform before the designated due date.
  • Data Expiry: To maintain privacy and minimize data storage, submitted assignment files are automatically deleted from our servers 24 hours after the teacher has viewed/downloaded them. Unsubmitted files expire on their due date. Marks and remarks are retained permanently.

5. Code of Conduct

  • Respectful Environment: All interactions between students, parents, and teachers must remain professional. Harassment will result in immediate termination of services.
  • Independent Work: Students are expected to complete their assignments independently.

6. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada applicable therein.
